JOB DESCRIPTION:
This individual will give leadership to the efficient and effective use of the gifts that
God has entrusted St. Matthew. Additionally, this individual will be the primary
contact for all business-related issues and coordinates work with the Facility Person to
handle any facility related issues.
TEAM MEMBER ROLE
- Proactively influences SMLC culture by demonstrating a positive energetic influence throughout the ministry of SMLC.
- Consistently represents SMLC with integrity through actions words and behavior that supports and aligns with Mission and Vision of SMLC
- Actively participate and contribute to SMLC initiatives thru the development of OKRS and direct involvement with SMLC MAT’S.
- Desire to see the facility used in ministry

BUILDING, ASSET AND PERSONNEL UTILIZATION AND MANAGEMENT
Oversees the resources of St. Matthew to ensure that they are ready for ministry.
- Develop, manage and maintain a system for room reservations for ministry, and rental purposes working with facilities staff to ensure that rooms are cleaned and resourced for use.
- Develop policy and procedures for building usage, onsite event coordination of weddings, funerals, receptions, and outside rentals.
- Develops policies and procedures for the use of St. Matthew resources outside of church functions, e.g., technical equipment, tables, chairs, hope wagon, etc.
- Develops and oversees facility security.
o Ensures all security cameras are functioning
o Responsible for issuing key fobs and hard copy keys, keep records of issued keys.
- Oversees facility janitorial contract, ensuring that all spaces are cleaned and stocked.
- Maintains an inventory of capital equipment and a record of all equipment loaned out.
- Schedule annual certification personnel training and background checks.
- Maintain and retain all staff and volunteer employment records.
ACCOUNTING
Responsible for the accurate recordkeeping and reporting of financial information. This includes member contributions and accounts payable and receivable. Partner with Treasurer for cash flow and Investment portfolio of the church.
- Oversees weekly contribution counting and bank deposit.
- Review all invoices and expenses submitted to the Bookkeeper and assign the appropriate GL account for posting.
- In concert with Bookkeeper, oversees accounts payable functions and ensures prompt payment of invoices and bills.
- Works with Bookkeeper to oversee Payroll and timecard functions and posts entries in QuickBooks.
- Oversees member contributions database entry and annual giving statement distribution.
- Oversee and validates employee expense reports and ensure appropriate record retention.
- Maintains confidentiality of all financial and giving records.
- Files all financial documents following record retention policy.
- Works with the Finance Committee to create a process for digital backup of financial records.
- Works with Treasurer, staff, and Finance Committee in the development of the annual budget.
- Reviews the General Ledger accounting system with the Treasurer and staff to develop a system that makes correct appropriation, tracking and budgeting easier.
Establish a reporting process that will allow Ministry teams to remain current with budget lines for which they are responsible, and easily identify remaining resources available for use.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
- Works with Executive Pastor to oversee staff
- Approve spending requests for staff
- Sign on church bank accounts
- Keep records of on-line accounts and usernames used in the operations of SMLC.
- Assist staff with identifying appropriate spending accounts in QuickBooks.
- Monitor completion for monthly credit card expense statements
- Assist with soliciting and evaluating bid for services as needed for all ministry teams
Hire vendors and manage vendor services in all areas of the church
OVERSIGHT OF FACILITY TEAM
Works with Pastoral staff, Governing Board, and facilities team to identify building maintenance issues and improvement opportunities.
- Works with Pastoral staff and Governing Board to prioritize list and set it on a timetable.
- Assist in evaluation of bids from vendors.
- Ensures that work is properly completed before payment is approved.
- Oversight of Facility Manager
OVERSIGHT OF SAFETY AND LIABILITY
- Develops and oversees security, ensuring maximum people and resource safety at all times
- Maintains a process of oversight which limits access to peripheral areas of the building when not in use.
COMPUTERS AND TECHNOLOGY
Oversees and coordinates security, technology, and data storage.
- Maintains an inventory of technology and computers and creates a depreciation schedule to anticipate replacement.
- Develops a policies and procedures for staff technology usage and replacement.
- Oversees building security systems.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Business experience in accounting, policy and procedure development and facility management.
- Demonstrate administrative and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates competency with various computer and software applications, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, ability to relate to a variety of individuals and groups within and outside of the church.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proven aptitude for confidentiality in all things related to employment, finance, congregants, and staff.
- Must obtain valid CPR/First Aid certificates within one year of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office mobility; sufficient dexterity to operate standard office equipment; vision and hearing in normal range (a telephone device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed); ability to move up to 50 pounds is sometimes
required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
