Job Title: Cemetery Security Guard
Department: Cemeteries Department
Reports To: Assistant Director Field Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Provide and maintain the safety and security of all persons and properties of the assigned cemetery and mausoleum location by performing the following duties and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Unlocks and secures the mausoleum at scheduled hours
- Greets visitors and assists in providing information to them upon request
- Monitors assigned area for any irregularities, addressing what can be addressed immediately
- Reports unaddressed irregularities to the cemetery foreman
- Warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and reports any persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts to the proper authorities

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree required; experience in security and related duties preferred
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to visitors.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel throughout the six lower counties of South Jersey as needed.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk throughout assigned area, and must be able to do light housekeeping such as sweeping or picking up trash.
Work Environment: Employee must be prepared to bear extreme weather for brief periods of time.
