Campus Security Coordinator
Do you have experience in security and/or law enforcement? Are you passionate about keeping a parish with a school safe amid the growing issues of our society?
St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Centennial Colorado is looking for a part-time security coordinator to run our parish Safety Ministry and oversee school safety in all areas. If you are interested, please send your resume to Paul Kovach at paulk@stthomasmore.org.
Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, recruit, train and manage the newly formed Safety Ministry that will provide services at all seven weekend Masses. Oversee campus security in general, i.e., programs, systems, equipment, etc. Oversee and manage school safety protocols, drills, policies, etc. (in conjunction with the Director of Maintenance). Using the assessment reports of the campus and parish procedures, develop a plan for implementing suggested changes and improvements. Assist with applying for grants to fund aspects of parish security. Train parish staff in safety procedures and protocols. Identify scope of work and hours needed as Campus Security Coordinator efforts continue. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Physical Requirements: Visual acuity both near and far, manual dexterity with good eye/hand coordination, good hearing, and speech; ability to sit for extended periods; standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, and squatting as necessary to perform the duties of the position; ability to lift/move objects up to 25 pounds in weight.
Requirements: Significant employment experience in security administration or law enforcement. Ability to organize and train volunteers of various ages and backgrounds to apply basic safety procedures and protocols. Work under one supervisor, while coordinating responsibilities with other directors (dotted line reporting). Excellent interpersonal communication and motivational skills. Superior prudence and judgment. Proven experience managing projects, budgets, and deadlines. Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work. Refrain from public promotion or approval of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the parish, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
Hours and Pay: Part-time (20-25 hours), non-exempt, hourly; days TBD, some weekends and evenings as needed.
