Position Description
This position plans methodically for securing, distributing, and coordinating material needs as part of the contractual agreement with the Department of State and USCCB to provide to newly arrived refugee families (or other eligible populations). This position will assist in the daily pickup, delivery, warehouse organization and management of distribution. This position works closely with the MRS Volunteer Manager, Outreach Specialist, Community Sponsor Coordinator and other MRS Leadership to ensure appropriate resources are available when needed.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain warehouse in full compliance with all applicable Federal Occupational Safety and Administration (OSHA), State and local agency regulatory safety, and health requirements under the direction of warehouse supervisor.
- Practice site risk management, resolve operational problems in collaboration with CCDA administration. Maintain and operate warehouse equipment safely as directed.
- Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by sweeping and mopping with disinfectant and removal of trash and recycling material, planning physical layouts of stock, and arranging for any needed repairs. Identify and report potential hazards, mitigate the danger immediately.
- Assist in executing warehouse operations regarding receiving, storing, packing, and distributing household items according to goals and objectives established by the Program Director (PD). Keep track of all products coming in and leaving the warehouse.
- Assist in preparing management reports as needed.
- Assist with training warehouse volunteers on general warehouse safety, equipment and vehicles as needed. Work with volunteer manager to monitor volunteer quality of work in preparing items for clients.
- Respond to correspondence in a timely manner. Interact professionally with all stakeholders.
- Innovative & creative thinker to achieve desired results in the areas of productivity, service, cost effectiveness and growth.
- Maintain forklift certification and provide forklift training as needed to employees.
- Travel throughout the Arlington Diocese of Virginia, consisting of 21 counties and 7 independent cities. Flexible schedule with some evening and/or weekend hours is required as needed.

Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences, strong reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license, 3 years of driving in the USA and a good driving record.
- Ability to satisfy OSHA requirements in correctly and safely operating a forklift.
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.

Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 3+ years of relevant experience. Collaborating with volunteers is a plus.
- Labor experience including loading and unloading trucks, securing loads, and lifting heavy items.
- Experience driving a 16’ or larger truck is required. Experience operating a forklift and a motorized pallet jack.
Physical Demands
The employee is required to regularly lift 60 pounds safely from a standing position. Must also be able to use such items as hand trucks, dollies, carts, pallet jacks and/or a forklift with a load of 100 lbs. or more up to 2,000 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to use a computer keyboard and handle heavy boxes and pallets of food; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and climb a ladder.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
