Description
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy is seeking a full-time, energetic, adaptable, and qualified early childhood teacher. The classroom teacher plans, guides, and evaluates the learning process of students. They will create an environment that nurtures young children in the learning process. The teacher will be expected to provide experiential learning opportunities, especially through play. The Catholic school teacher will adhere to the NCEA Code of Ethics which specifies the attitude and the practice of the teacher in relation to the student, parents, community, and profession.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Associates degree with 12 hours in Early Childhood Education from an accredited university or equivalent in a foreign country or
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education courses from an accredited university or equivalent in a foreign country or a valid, appropriate state certificate
- Teachers of Religion must fulfill the 150-hour Minimum Requirements for Teachers of Religion/Theology Early Childhood Courses must be appropriate to the age of students and content to be taught. Credit hours may include (but are not limited to): Psychology courses may not be counted for more than 3 credit hours of the 12 required education hours. developmental or child psychology human growth and development learning theory curriculum (early childhood, elementary) educational use of technology classroom management cultural competency special education
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
- Complete certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
- Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures
