The Director of Hispanic, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry is responsible for the work of catechesis and relational ministry development for teens and young adults in the parish, as well as supporting sacramental formation and preparation for Spanish-speaking families in the parish. The position includes the oversight of programs for both English- and Spanish-speaking members and ministries of the parish. Ability to speak both English and Spanish fluently is required for this job, and strong organizational and communication skills are essential. This director will maintain communication with the pastor, other parish staff members, and diocesan Office of Evangelization and Faith Formation to effectively understand parish trends and needs. Additionally, the director will recruit and provide training and direction to a team of trustworthy and capable catechists/youth ministry volunteers for all levels of formation, and serve as ex officio member of Pastoral Council. This position works in collaboration with the Director of Religious Education to increase adult formation opportunities within and collaboration between the Spanish-speaking and English-speaking communities within the parish, and to assist with communication with he Spanish-speaking families in religious education, in addition to coordinating marriage preparation. This position is responsible for communications send through Flocknote and social media.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Experience with catechesis with adults and children
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn the Parish Data Systems software
- Available some evenings and weekends
- Experience managing social media feeds (Facebook and Instagram)
