POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director(s) of Mission Integration plays a key leadership role within the Sponsorship Office, along with the Executive Director by articulating and perpetuating the mission, vision, and values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur within the sponsored educational and health care ministries of the US East-West Province.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur (SNDdeN), founded by St. Julie Billiart in 1804, are a Catholic international religious congregation with Sisters ministering in seventeen countries on five continents. The US East-West Sponsorship Office maintains connections with sponsored ministries within the Province. The Office structure includes an Executive Director, Directors of Mission Integration, and a Program Manager
**The location of this position is centered in the Belmont, CA Province Office, but with flexibility provided there is access to video conferencing; must be willing to work within varying time zones (EST, PST)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (shared among Directors) as determined by the Executive Director in collaboration with the Director(s) of Mission Integration:
Establish relationship with ministry partners through regular meetings and visits to ministry sites.
Assess the mission integration needs of the US East-West Province ministry partners
Collaborate with Executive Director to create and implement a strategic plan for mission integration and governance
Collaborate with ministry leaders and/or their designated Mission Integration contact, to advance mission integration efforts in each school and health care center
Create web-based learning modules for mission integration geared toward board development and formation; faculty/staff development and formation
Support Province Board retreat efforts
Initiate and facilitate mission-related opportunities across the Province ministries involving leadership or faculty or staff or students
Communicate with Mission Integration committees and/or efforts of ministries
Plan and facilitate formation programs for new ministry leaders and for new teacher/staff orientations
Provide Province staff orientation programs
Provide for on-going formation programs to administrators, staffs and Boards of Directors relative to Catholic identity and the charism, The Hallmarks of a Notre Dame Learning Community and the current reality of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
Mentor ministry leaders relative to living the Notre Dame mission as expressed in The Hallmarks of a Notre Dame Learning Community
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Directors relative to future Province and cross-Province endeavors
Provide on-going networking opportunities for ministries to grow and learn the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, develop best practices, and grow in relationship with one another
Assess need for accessible, relevant materials to be used at all levels of education, staff development and board formation
Support curriculum development for a Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur sponsored school
Support the publication of office newsletter, and social media posts, and website updates
Serve as Board of Director/Trustee of ministry board(s) as ex-officio with voice as assigned by Executive Director
Must maintain highest level of integrity and confidentiality with information related to EW Province business
Respond to requests by Executive Director
PRIORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SPONSORSHIP OFFICE:
Strengthen, in the educational, health care and other ministries of the US East-West Province, the Catholic identity, the legacy of St. Julie Billiart and the educational values and principles essential to the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
Develop, organize, and implement on-going programming for SNDdeN ministry partners, assisting them in their leadership, spiritual and personal growth in their commitment to the values and charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Provide for province staff orientation and on-going formation to the mission of Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and the Hallmarks of a Notre Dame Learning Community
Support the understanding and growth of Catholic identity and the Notre Dame heritage and values of their institutions by providing education relative to mission integration, sponsorship, and governance
Commit to Catholic Social Teaching, especially in areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, anti-racism, care of the earth/climate
As a team, develop expectations and accountability for mission effectiveness for SNDdeN sponsored ministry in US East-West Province
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of and commitment to the Mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Education, Theology or Spirituality; Master’s preferred.
Demonstrated leadership experience preferably in a Catholic setting
Experience with Not-for Profit Boards preferred
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and to work collaboratively
Effective oral and written communication skills
Positive interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good working relationships
Cultural sensitivity with openness to adapt to multi-cultural and multi-ethnic situations
Ability to organize and implement large Province-wide events. Working knowledge of social media
Demonstrated computer skills necessary to fulfill responsibilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid U.S. Driver License and ability for air travel (Real ID)
Ability to travel as needed
Ability to lift up to 30 Lbs. (office supplies, computer equipment)
