Early Childhood Program Director
St. John Lalande Early Childhood Center, Blue Springs, MO
Reports To: Pastor
The Early Childhood Program Director is responsible for the daily operations of a daycare center. Ensures a safe and educational environment for young children. Manages the program and leads the staff in offering stimulating, enriching and nurturing early learning experiences, and upholds the center’s reputation.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
- Monitor child/staff ratio and take action to balance staff available to children and their needs.
- Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and the center’s policies.
- Organize and implement childcare waiting list to ensure a smooth transition for staff and new families at the center.
- Ensure that center facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.
- Evaluate and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies within the program’s budget.
- Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.
- Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.
- Manage and oversee the budget and accounts and ensure that the center remains profitable.
- Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan.
- Maintain proper accreditation.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or related experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in early childhood education.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred, but not required.
