Cantor Good Shepherd Parish
Mission: To facilitate and encourage the gathered assembly in full, active, and conscious participation in the celebration of the Liturgy and Eucharist. Sacred prayer sung by the faithful, truly enriches our experience in the call to community and the living out of our vocations as proclaimers of the Gospel.
Duties: Applicants must be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043). Cantors are staff singers who lead the congregation in sung prayer at the mass to elevate the communal prayer of the congregation. These singers can exhibit musical proficiency, poise, prayerfulness, effective leadership, and beauty through their singing. Cantors lead a mass alone with an accompanist, or as a ringer with the choir. Cantors are assigned masses as needed, with the expectation to be available the vast majority of Sundays and Holy Days (including Christmas and Easter).

BA or BM in music (or related), or advanced degrees preferred. Prepared audition/interview with Director of Music is required before hire.
