Position: Medical Receptionist

Each team member plays an important role in providing the highest level of personalized care for our patients. The Medical Receptionist at Pearl Women’s Health & Surgery is often the first impression patients and families will have at the office, so it’s important that this person be hospitable and welcoming. The receptionist will serve on a team composed of a physician, practice manager, administrative medical assistant, medical assistant, and medical biller.
This Medical Receptionist will take initiative, strive for prompt and accurate patient documentation and communication, work well on a team, and provide a hospitable, welcoming environment for patients during their visit. The ideal candidate takes initiative, pays attention to detail, incorporates feedback well, and holds a welcoming and friendly attitude.
Primary responsibilities include:
The Medical Receptionist is involved in direct patient care and is responsible for, but not limited to: Cheerfully greeting and checking in patients, answering phone calls and messaging patients for scheduling, checking out patients after their appointment, greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone, quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues, optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling, scan relevant patient records or documents into the patient chart, receiving and sending faxes.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Certification from medical assistant program preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in the medical field
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Superior customer service skills & high level of professionalism
• Spanish-speaking preferred
• Experience with insurance and billing a plus
