Teaching Assistant/Instructional Aide

Primary Function
Under the direction of the school Principal and lead teacher, responsible for supporting the Mission of Assumption Catholic School. Demonstrate effective planning with the direction of your lead teacher while building a partner relationship. Be committed to being part of a faith-based community. Must exercise good judgment in dealing with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
KNOWLEDGE
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to follow safety procedures Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for students.
Responsibilities And Essential Duties
- Assist in organizing and implementing instructional materials as the lead teacher directs.
- Support teachers in providing care, direction, and education of students.
- Organize classroom learning materials to maximize student time on task.
- Motivate student learning.
- Attend ancillary class. (decided by grade)
- Assist teacher in clerical tasks and data collection.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom while maintaining a functional and pleasant learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned; be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Display sound judgment in dress and general behavior.
- Maintain confidentiality of students, family, faculty and staff.
- Attend school functions, faculty meetings and recommended training programs.
- Cooperate with school and Archdiocesan administration; work effectively with all staff members.
- Hours 7:30-3:45
Qualifications (education, Experience And Skills)
Education: High School diploma or equivalent qualification
Experience: Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience with children in education, bilingual preferred

- Must be a self-starter and be well-organized.
- Ability to represent Assumption Catholic School professionally.
- Manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have strong and effective organizational skills.

None
Will receive daily directions from Lead teacher

Physical/Mental Requirements
- Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as
required in a normal school environment (10 lbs minimum)
- Required activities: walking, sitting on the floor, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying student supplies, outdoor activities and some exposure to changing weather.
