Maintenance Worker
Description
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish is looking to fill a position on the maintenance team.
As a member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for
- The effective, efficient and safe maintenance, renovation and upkeep of campus buildings and grounds including semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other minor repair work.
- Obtaining the necessary supplies for cleaning and maintaining the building.
- Daily visual inspections of the entire property and clean and maintain as needed.
- Minor, job-related maintenance on custodial equipment, furniture & fixtures (including replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, vacuum bags/belts, etc.).
- Vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, cleaning windows/walls, moving furniture, using machinery to clean carpet, tile, terrazzo, and marble floors.
- Facility set-up, hauling and moving equipment, watering grounds, ice and snow removal, and other simple building and grounds maintenance duties for the parish and/or school.
- Performing work to be done as a result of work orders requested by the parish pastor or business manager, or school president or principal.
- Other tasks related to the cleaning and maintenance of the school and parish facilities as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements
- 2+ Years experience preferred, but not required.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing referred, but not required.
- The ability to lift or move 50+ lb. items.
- Previous experience working in a school or church environment is a plus.
- The ability to work without direction, see issues on the campus, and report them so they can be fixed. This job requires the ability to work around children.
