Position Summary
The Leadership Institute at Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) is committed to forming leaders and entrepreneurs who are committed to being witnesses of truth, reason, and virtue in the marketplace, in the Church, and in the broader culture. The Institute is hiring a director for the entrepreneurship program who can ignite a passion in students interested in launching their own startup enterprise (either for profit or nonprofit) grounded in Catholic teaching and the principles of the free market. The director will help shape an entrepreneurial mindset among students and across campus through individual mentorship, course offerings, and extra-curricular programming. The director will oversee and drive growth in the academic entrepreneurship program, partner with faculty in accomplishing the program’s goals, and teach entrepreneurship and/or business classes to help form the students.
The candidate we are seeking to hire should have a passion for leadership and teaching excellence and a commitment to teaching our next generation of entrepreneurs. We are looking for a leader with a track record of building businesses and forging effective teams. In addition, candidates should be passionate about the mission of the University and have a compelling vision that brings teaching excellence, business innovation and authentic leadership to the classroom.
Franciscan University, founded in 1946 by friars of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Province of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis of Penance, integrates excellent academic programs with a dynamic faith environment to serve 2,500 students from all 50 states and 17 countries on campus and an additional 1,000 students online. Primary Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate entrepreneurship and business courses.
- Bring strong experience in at least two of the following areas: Leadership and Management; Marketing and Growth; Finance and Operations; HR including People, Performance and Culture; Product and User Experience Design.
- Provide direction and strategic vision to the entrepreneurship program.
- Provide students with a practical educational experience that is grounded in relevant real-world scenarios that incorporate best practices that are centered in Catholic social teaching and the Catholic intellectual tradition.
- Support and connect students with business internship opportunities.
- Collaborate with faculty on program development initiatives and sharing best practices for teaching excellence.
- Be a present and visible leader of the program on campus, with the local business community and with other key stakeholders, including the student body, career services and enrollment.
- Engage in university service and scholarly activity that aligns a growth mindset with department expectations.

Qualifications
Must believe in, promote and have a strong commitment to the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:
- A graduate degree and a track record of significant real-world organizational leadership experience, preferably an MBA or other graduate business degree.
- Energized by ongoing professional development and staying up to date with the latest research in entrepreneurship and business.
- Demonstrated and significant experience building and managing teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and University mission.
- Must be local or willing to relocate to the Steubenville/Pittsburgh area.
