Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree (Education/math/science) and/or PEL with appropriate endorsement(s).
- Understanding and experience with curriculum design, planning and instruction.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) and mature approach to conflict with excellent classroom management skills. Previous high school teaching experience strongly preferred.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the building administration, educator will plan and
provide for appropriate learning experiences for students.
Staff member will effectively perform the following duties in a timely manner.
- Supervises students in a variety of school related settings.
- Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
- Manages classroom organization and discipline.
- Positively and proactively communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and community.
- Works cooperatively with the department members and staff as well as administration.
Develops and administers education curriculum consistent with school goals and
objectives.
- Develops engaging lesson plans designed to foster critical thinking skills
- Ability to differentiate lesson plans to accommodate all learning styles and challenges including students with 504 plans.
- Provides students with collaborative, problem-solving experiences that relate to and can be applied to real life; includes integration of SAT skills.
- Exudes an enthusiastic, motivating attitude towards coursework that will inspire students.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Attends all scheduled meetings at St. Edward.
- Attends school Open House once per semester and facilitates “family” atmosphere critical to school culture.
