I. POSITION PURPOSE
Performs all duties related to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school and parish buildings and grounds.
II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primarily responsible for ensuring school building is cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis. Includes maintaining classrooms, bathrooms and common areas throughout the day.
- Provides minor maintenance services to school building and grounds. May perform cleaning and minor maintenance of other campus facilities as requested.
- Maintains playground in a safe and clean manner.
- Assures the collection and disposal of garbage.
- Provides other general assistance as needed (i.e. setting up the chairs and tables, hauling/moving items and picking up parts or other equipment as requested by staff).
- Communicates inventory and supply needs to Facilities Supervisor for ordering.
- Sets up for special events as requested (e. g. chairs, tables and other equipment for special events).
- Performs annual maintenance tasks as identified.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
III. REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a custodial service-based position desired.
- Must pass background check upon hire.
- High attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Disposition to perform other duties as assigned
To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to:
- Ability to lift, push pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during site visits
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
- Walking in and around the facility with great frequency
- Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
- Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicants skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
