General Description
The Lunch Food Service Attendant - Cook is responsible for ensuring that the student lunch program is completed daily per the documented procedure. This includes; setting up the lunch service for the students, scanning in the students after they have received their food, and cleaning up upon completion of serving.
The primary role of the selected candidate will be to cook/prepare meals. There may be other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Key Areas of Responsibility - Primary Cook
- Manage the daily set-up, break-down, and clean-up of the lunch program
- Ensure lunch is set up and served on time (there are two lunches/day served)
- Ensure all students who participate in the program are scanned in (Sycamore)
- Ensure that food is replenished as necessary
- Store and/or dispose of unused foods appropriately
- Ensure that student worker lunches are made for the following day
- Ensure proper inventory of all materials required to make and serve breakfast, lunch and worker lunches
- Communicate with the Food Service Manager regarding all issues and concerns related to the program, as well as keeping him/her apprised of inventory levels
- Assist students as necessary
- Assist with the school recycling efforts as required

Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Excellent Driving Record, With Experience Driving High-school Students Preferred
Hold and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license with all legally required endorsements (subject to initial and follow up verification)
Signed copy of Driver Agreement and Code of Conduct Forms (attached)
Ability to operate and communicate clearly on a phone
Effectively communicate with students, parents, school staff, and others in a calm and respectful manner at all times
Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds of the student body
Positive attitude
