Position Title: Principal, St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School in Baltimore City
Position Summary:
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, nestled in the bucolic Mayfield community of Northeast Baltimore, offers a small town feel with easy access to the heart of Baltimore City, as well as the suburban feel of Baltimore County, just minutes away. We are in search of a Principal to lead our beloved school, K-8, for the 2024-2025 school year. Our Principal plays a crucial role in guiding the overall educational program, ensuring that instructional practices, programs, and activities align with the school's mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives. Our Principal fosters the Catholic Identity of the school by promoting Catholic values and nurturing the faith formation and spirituality of faculty, staff, and students while fostering an environment that embodies our Catholic identity. Our Principal reports directly to the Pastor.
Essential Functions:
· Oversees the appraisal process for faculty
· Serves as staff to the Board of Trustees on the Strategic Planning Committee.
· Provides leadership for all members of the school community that reflects Gospel values.
· Assists the President and works cooperatively with members of the administrative team in school planning and to enhance the mission and Catholic, Franciscan identity of Catholic High
Position Qualifications:
· Must respect the Catholic faith and tradition and commits to the mission and philosophy of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
· Has successful teaching and administrative experience at the secondary level, a Master's degree in education, and leads in the formulation of academic policies, curriculum development
· Supervises the instructional program, including AP, STEM, and other specialty programs
· Is a visionary instructional leader who promotes the educational development of students through effective supervisory and administrative skills in addition to planning, organizing, and assessing faculty in both service and professional development
· Must be competent in the use of technology as an integral tool for instruction
· Possesses strong communication and collaborative skills in working with all constituents, and provides leadership for the school's parent groups
· Has experience in strategic planning and with the Middle States accreditation process
· Collaborates with the President and Director of Institutional Advancement to maintain positive public relations with various constituent groups, the greater public, and prospective parents.
