The Development Corporation of the Archdiocese of Miami has an opening for a full-time Director of Stewardship. The ideal candidate is someone who understand that stewardship involves lifestyle decisions in alignment with the Gospel. This role is responsible for the design, implementation and coordination of an Archdiocesan-wide comprehensive stewardship plan and system that strategically and consistently promotes vibrancy and the concept of time, talent and treasure within all of the parishes. The Director of Stewardship is also responsible for sustaining positive and mutually rewarding relations between the Archdiocese of Miami and its donors as well as the parishes and programs. In addition, the Director is responsible for evaluating, creating, and implementing the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors, maintain ongoing and active networking with internal and external constituencies, and advise on the facilitation of recognition events and coordinate various activities for donor/giving societies. The Director of Stewardship will perform all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Responsible for the design, implementation and coordination of an Archdiocesan-wide comprehensive stewardship plan and system that strategically and consistently promotes vibrancy and the concept of time, talent and treasure within all of the parishes, including the need to constantly adapt the model with the needs of the parishes over time.
Revise and expand the increased offertory program and implement the program within parishes.
Act as the liaison between the parishes and the Development Office on all stewardship needs and assistance.
Conduct presentations to parishes on stewardship, increased offertory, online giving, and other relevant stewardship topics.
Assist the parishes with the implementation of an online giving platform, web design for the online giving as well as other technological resources for a successful stewardship model, such as parish apps and more.
In collaboration with the Director of Donor Communications, establish and manage information tracking processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, ongoing communication, and continued cultivation of past and current major donors to enhance their relationship with the Archdiocese of Miami and increase the likelihood of continued contributions.
Provide consultative support to parishes, schools, programs and other entities regarding stewardship practices, policies, and processes.
Attend Stewardship Council meetings, parish Ministry Fairs and other parish stewardship events, as needed.
Develop and assess policies and procedures across the Development Corporation that are essential for a comprehensive stewardship plan and system.
Create and sustain positive and mutually-rewarding relations between the Archdiocese of Miami and its donors as well as the parishes, schools, programs and other entities.
In coordination with the Development Corporation team, design, document and implement a systematic and integrated stewardship program that encompasses donor recognition societies, events, and other stewardship events.
Devise and use consistent, accurate and appropriate information-sharing mechanisms for stewardship prospects and donors.
Organize, plan and execute all aspects of all stewardship events.
Create and disseminate all stewardship materials.
Provide exemplary customer service to all internal and external constituents who contact the Development Corporation by phone, email, fax or in person and all attendees at events.
Prepare donor reports and queries from Raiser's Edge, as needed, and track all stewardship actions and notes in Raiser's Edge.
Collaborate with other offices, programs and parishes within the Archdiocese as assigned on projects.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years' experience or no Bachelor degree with ten (10) years' experience in development/non-profit environment.
Preferred: Master's degree and five (5) years' experience in development/non-profit environment.
Knowledge of theology and principles of stewardship.
Skilled in Raiser's Edge strongly preferred: preparation of donor reports and queries and tracking touchpoints and contact.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Knowledge of fundamentals in project management preferred.
Good computer literacy required.
Effective time management skills including ability to manage several projects at the same time with accuracy.
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Good spelling and grammar required.
Strong oral and written English communication skills is a must, including a clear speaking voice.
Good Spanish spoken and written communication skills strongly preferred.
Good Haitian-Creole spoken and written communication skills are a plus.
Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment is a plus.
Knowledge of the basic tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures.
Must have professional demeanor.
