Position Title: Middle School Science and Math Teacher
Classification: Full-Time
Location: Seton Catholic High School Myrtle Beach, SC
Reports To: The principal
Job Summary: The position’s responsibilities include teaching 6th and 7th grade science, as well as 6th and 7th grade math by creating and implementing standards-based lessons, assessing student understanding, and collaborating with other teachers and staff.
Responsibilities:
o Teach science and math subjects to middle school students, ensuring that the curriculum is aligned with both academic standards and Catholic teachings
o Prepare and deliver lessons that are engaging and promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills
o Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, and other forms of evaluation, and provide feedback to students and parents
o Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
o Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and faculty
meetings as required
Qualifications:
o A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, with a preference for a master’s degree
o Certification or licensure as required by the state or diocese
o Experience in teaching middle school students, preferably in a Catholic school setting
o A commitment to the Catholic faith and an understanding of Catholic doctrine and values
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, using feet, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, reaching above shoulders at least 1/3 of the time.
