Description
St. Anthony School in Robstown, Texas, is seeking a part-time Cafeteria Staff member for the 2025-2026 academic year. The desired applicant will be able to perform routine tasks that involve food preparation, such as preparation of meats, vegetables and other food items. Applicants must also assist in cleaning, maintenance, and operation of all cooking equipment, work serving areas and dining area.
Ministerial Character:
The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities
to them.
Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Responsibilities:

- As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic church
- Continuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
- Develops in the students a knowledge of Catholic doctrine and tradition
- Provides service ministry opportunities
- Prepares, cooks, and serves food as assigned by the cafeteria manager
- Assists in cleaning, maintenance, and operation of all cooking equipment and work serving areas
- Operates standard cooking equipment, including mixing machines, toasters, grills, food choppers, baking ovens, stoves, and fryers
- Keeps supplies on hand as needed in performing work assigned
- Checks menu for recipes to be used and, if in doubt, consults with cafeteria manager
- Portions products and keeps products ready for the serving line period
- Checks temperature on refrigerators, fryers, and ovens; reports to the cafeteria manager if equipment is not working properly
- Cleans and scrubs grill, warmers, refrigerators, fryers, cabinets, etc.
- Sweeps and mops work areas daily
- Maintains standards of personal hygiene
- Performs other duties as assigned by the cafeteria manager
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience in institutional or commercial food service
- Must possess health certification based on county requirements
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
- Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
- Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures
