Position Description
Job Title: Leadership Giving Officer (LGO)
Job Status: Non-Exempt/Full- Time
Reports to: Director of Advancement
Marian Catholic High School seeks a dynamic and mission-driven Leadership Giving Officer to enhance and expand philanthropic support from donors, including alumni, parents, friends of Marian and community members. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, this role is responsible for developing, managing and growing a portfolio of leadership donors who contribute at significant levels to the Marian Fund, capital campaigns, planned giving initiatives and other major fundraising efforts. This position works in close collaboration with other members of the Advancement staff, board members, executive staff, and outside key contacts to develop prospects. This is a full-time, year-round position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Donor Identification: Develop a portfolio of qualified potential leadership donor prospects including individuals and organizations capable of making annual gifts of $1,000 and above.
- Cultivation & Relationship Building: Develop a detailed plan and timetable to reach out to all leadership donor prospects and either maintain/grow relationships with existing donors or build/develop relationships with new prospects.
- Solicitation & Stewardship: Develop and execute tailored solicitation strategies, prepare proposals, and secure significant contributions through personal outreach, face to face meetings, and events.
- Planned Giving & Major Gifts: Work collaboratively to promote and manage planned giving opportunities and major donor commitments.
- Annual & Capital Campaign Support: Work closely with the Advancement Office to support the Marian Fund, Tax Credit Scholarship Program, Endowment growth, and planning for an anticipated 75th Anniversary Capital Campaigns.
- Event Engagement: Plan and execute donor-centric engagement opportunities such as leadership giving receptions, special recognition events, and other advancement-related functions.
- Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the Advancement team to align leadership giving strategies with overall fundraising.
- Reporting: Produce a written plan to meet individual financial targets, including strategies to meet those goals. Complete reports to show goals and progress monthly and by fiscal year.
- Grant Writing & Management: Identify, write, and manage grant proposals to secure additional funding opportunities that align with Marian Catholic's mission and needs.
- Database Management: Maintain detailed and accurate records of donor interactions, pledges, and stewardship efforts using advancement software.

Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
- Passion for Catholic education and Marian Catholic High School's mission.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in major gift fundraising, donor relations, or advancement or related field, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated success in securing leadership gifts and developing long-term donor relationships.
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage donors.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a command of detail
- Experience with fundraising databases and donor management systems (i.e., Donor Perfect, Raiser's Edge, or similar platforms).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Grant writing experience, with a proven track record of securing funding from foundations or other grant-making entities.
- The ability to work evenings and weekends is necessary for donor meetings and special events.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop. Must be able to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by the means of spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
Working Conditions: Normal school office setting, Full-time,7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. May be required to assist with evenings and weekends is necessary for donor meetings and special events.
