Description
Directs several dimensions of a comprehensive parish adult faith formation program. Has sole responsibility for catechumen and OCIA programs. The Coordinator would serve as a direct contact and resource for small groups and facilitate prepared education programs. This typically includes recruitment and training of volunteers; planning faith formation programs for adults, coordinating small Christian communities, assisting with liturgical formation, evaluating program curricula, and acting as parish resource person in methods and some areas of theology.
This position is being advertised as part-time, but with the correct candidate, the position could develop into a full-time position.
Alternate/previous titles for this classification may include Youth Minister II, Youth Minister III, Adult Faith Development Coordinator and Religious Education Coordinator, Director of Children's Faith Formation, Director of Youth Ministry
Requirements
The classification requires a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies or related field with no experience, graduate-level background in theology/catechesis with experience in the field, certification from the Bishop Helmsing Institute Program, or previous experience in parish adult faith formation.
