Position Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the cleaning and sanitation needs of the residence halls on the main campus. She/he will supervise all housekeeping staff while cleaning alongside them. The individual will collaborate with other trades within the department to support their efforts, as a team, to fully support the service needs of the Facilities Department. Works close with Residence Life for direction when residents move in/out or change rooms. The Supervisor will facilitate the training needs, inspections, work schedule and administrative needs of housekeepers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Implement goals and objectives established by the Associate Director of Facilities
- Supervise housekeepers and student workers: (exception: employee hiring responsibilities, performance management and discipline) work assignments, scheduling, training, monitoring etc. May be asked to assist with the performance review process.
- Clean residence hall rooms and apartments daily.
- Coordinate special project work assigned to housekeeping (deep cleaning of apartments/dorm rooms floor care etc.)
- Conduct routine inspections of housekeeper’s work to meet quality standards. Monitor equipment for repair.
- Make sure that all housekeepers are practicing safe work habits to insure their safety and health.
- Other duties – responsibilities as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
Work Experience
- The successful candidate is preferred to have five-years’ experience (or equivalence) in supervision.
Skills And Abilities
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
- Proven experience in the following areas:
- Excellence in customer service
- Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure
- Successfully lead and motivate a team of employees
- Verbal and written communication skills with internal and external constituents
- Knowledgeable with cleaning chemicals
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office
