Job Description: Dean of Students/7th Grade Religion Teacher

Job Summary:
We seek a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the Dean of Students/7th Grade Religion Teacher role at our school in Clinton Township, MI. The ideal candidate will oversee student discipline, behavior management, and teaching 7th-grade religion classes.
Qualifications:
A degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
Previous experience in student affairs or a related field.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of students, parents, and staff.
Knowledge of student development and educational best practices.
Experience with student conduct and disciplinary procedures.
Basic Functions:
Preschool to 8th grade school
Under the direction of the principal, the dean of students serves as a leader in planning, coordinating, and administering school activities and programs, including student conduct. The dean assists with morning drop-off and after-school pick-up and supervises lunch recess.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students.
Performs various administrative duties to assist the Principal in managing the school; assumes the duties of the Principal in the absence of the Principal and as assigned.
Administers disciplinary procedures following the school policies; receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies; responds to and resolves parent, student, and staff concerns and complaints related to discipline. Maintains student discipline and follows through with documentation.
Serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff related to discipline.
Collects and collates all the forms needed for the school.
Using the do not publish forms compiles a picture record of the students the school does not have permission to publish their pictures; making sure all constituents who need this information are informed throughout the year.
Post monthly pesticide application notifications and submit the dates to be posted on the website.
Will assist with the coordination, monitoring, and execution of volunteer committees, events, and meetings.
Teaches 7th-grade religion
Performs other duties as assigned
