The College of St. Joseph the Worker is looking for a Controller to assist with day-to-day financial operations as well as government regulatory filings for the college and associated businesses.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled Controller eager to apply accounting experience to the mission of the college. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building new and making improvements to accounting processes and controls for a growing organization. Position is located in Steubenville, OH.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, implement, and refine financial controls for college and associated businesses
• Manage tuition and scholarship accounting for college
• Perform bookkeeping duties for college and associated businesses
• Assist with new employee payroll and benefits administration
• Manage accurate and on-time reporting for IRS requirements of college and associated businesses
• Manage utility billing and property tax exemptions for college-owned properties
• Prepare, send, and collect monthly student utility/housing payments
• Assist Director of Development with donation processing and annual IRS statement preparation
• Assist with annual audit and 990 preparations
• Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
• 5 - 7 years' experience with a full suite of financial functions
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
