POSITION SUMMARY: The Disaster Recovery Program Supervisor is responsible for the
overall coordination of the services including developing and managing the daily operations and
activities of the program, providing supervision of staff and volunteers, overseeing the program
budget, and ensuring compliance with applicable professional and agency standards and funding
requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Overall Program Management: Oversees and manages all aspects of disaster response and
recovery programs, ensuring alignment with Catholic Charities' mission and values.
2. Staff Supervision: Supervises and mentors assigned staff, ensuring they are adequately
trained and equipped to carry out their duties.
3. Financial Management: Ensures that agency financial management policies and procedures
are adhered to.
4. Case Management: Ensures that disaster case management best practice standards are carried
out.
5. Crisis Communication: Works with agency and diocesan Communications staff to develop
and implement crisis communication plans to keep stakeholders informed during and after
disasters.
6. Community Coordination: Collaborates with local, state, and federal agencies, other NGOs,
and community organizations to ensure effective and coordinated disaster response and
recovery efforts.
7. Needs Assessment: Conducts needs assessments in disaster-affected areas to identify the
needs of individuals and communities and develops appropriate response plans.
8. Resource Mobilization: Identifies and secures resources (financial, material, and personnel)
to support disaster response and recovery efforts.
9. Grant Management: Manages grants and other funding sources to support disaster response
and recovery programs.
10. Reporting and Evaluation: Develops and implements systems for monitoring and evaluating
disaster response and recovery programs, and prepares reports for stakeholders.
11. Advocacy: Advocates for the needs of disaster-affected populations and for policies that
promote disaster preparedness and resilience.
12. Long-Term Recovery: Develops and implements long-term recovery plans to address the
needs of disaster-affected communities.
13. Preparedness: Works with communities to improve disaster preparedness and resilience.
14. Availability: Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to staff and customers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred. At least three years of relevant job experience required.
2. Strong management skills required.
3. Keen understanding of disaster recovery practices, techniques, and project management
principles.
4. Ability to travel to construction sites and locations throughout the Diocese of Charlotte.
5. Ability to walk long distances on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, bend, reach, and
withstand exposure to various weather conditions while inspecting job sites, which may
involve walking, and climbing.

7. Skills required to: work cooperatively as a member of a team, proficiently use Windows-
based word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; prepare and maintain files
and records; act promptly and consistently in accomplishing assigned responsibilities;
and communicate with fluency, orally and in writing in English.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Responsibilities of the Disaster Recovery Program Supervisor
involve travel and work beyond the regularly scheduled workday and work week.
