Saint Benedict School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic K–8 Spanish Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year, who will also serve as a 6th grade homeroom teacher. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about sharing the Spanish language and culture across grade levels and who will actively contribute to our vibrant, faith-filled school community. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Plan and teach Spanish language and culture lessons for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, using engaging, age-appropriate methods.
● Serve as the 6th grade homeroom teacher, providing daily support, communication, and leadership for a group of middle school students.
● Promote a classroom environment that supports academic rigor, cultural appreciation, and Catholic values.
● Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners and accommodate various learning styles.
● Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and foster a cohesive team approach.
● Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities through conferences, email, phone, and the electronic gradebook.
● Participate in school-wide events and activities, including Open House, concerts, HSA events, and other community-building functions.
● Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in instructional strategies, language acquisition, and Catholic education best practices.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Spanish, Foreign Language Education, or a related field
● Valid New York State certification in Foreign Language or comparable credential (preferred)
● Fluency in spoken and written Spanish
● Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school Spanish (preferred)
● Experience in or willingness to support Catholic education and values ● Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
● Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
● Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, reference check and completion of all necessary paperwork.
Salary: From $30,000 annually; 10-month, full-time exempt, benefit-eligible salaried position
