Description
Our Lady of the Presentation, Lee’s Summit, MO, is seeking a part time school nurse to job share with another part time nurse. The school nurse performs a variety of health related activities and procedures for students. This health care is necessary to provide services to meet the health and physical needs of all students including those with exceptional needs in accordance with State Law and Diocesan policy. Clerical duties will include all necessary forms and reports relating to the school health program. The school nurse will complete state-mandated student screenings and data collection. The school nurse will report to the school administration.
Responsibilities
· Maintains an accurate updated list of students requiring medication on a regular basis and administers medication as prescribed by the student’s physician.
· Performs routine first aid procedures.
· Provides specialized health care for students with health care needs.
· Maintain all student health records to ensure all requirements for students are met.
· Provides mandated student screening with follow up care and data collection.
· Maintains an accurate, updated list of all students with health needs.
· Ensures that the school’s health and safety regulations are followed.
· Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Nursing experience, preferably working with children.
- Licensed with the state of Mo as a registered nurse (RN).
- Current on CPR and First Aid training.
