General Introduction
The archbishop, visible principle of unity in his archdiocese, is called to build up the particular Church unceasingly in the communion of all its members, and to ensure that their diverse gifts and ministries, in union with the universal Church, serve to build up all the faithful and to spread the Gospel. (
Apostolorum Successores 8). He must take care that all the affairs which belong to the administration of the whole archdiocese are duly coordinated and are ordered to attain more suitably the good of the portion of the people of God entrusted to him. (
Apostolorum Successores 177).
Each position employed in the Chancery helps to extend the ministry of the archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.
General Summary Of Essential Purpose
The Development Seasonal Assistant role will collaborate with the larger Development department to assists with planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the team’s priorities. This position reports to Carin Brown, our Major Gifts Officer and will be 20-30 hours per week from Mid-May through Mid-August.
Essential Position Duties
Events (30%)
- Support the Crozier BBQ June 8 and the Golf Tournament July 29 providing administrative support, printing materials, checking registrations, attending events to provide day-of support.
- Assist with planning the Legacy Society luncheon in August 2025.
Annual Campaigns (10%)
- Support the Annual Campaigns team with the Annual Catholic Appeal and National Collections campaigns including research, phone calls, editing, and more.
Acknowledgments (25%)
- Contact Parishes to find out who is working at the parish and use this information to update the website.
- Call donors to thank them for their support.
- Call Crozier members to thank them for their support.
Communications (25%)
- Assist with the design of the Crozier renewal reminder email campaign and print mailer.
- Assist with the development of the Appreciation Luncheon and Legacy Society luncheon including the save-the-date postcard, printer needs, and assist with language, editing, design.
Database (10%)
- Assist with data entry in Donor database, primarily on Parishstaq demographic updates.
- Assist with planned giving filing, organization, and research
- Assist in developing a birthday card process for donors and Crozier Society members in conjunction with the Donor Database Administrators.
Essential Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
- Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers.
- Familiarity of the Catholic Church.
Education And Experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older and either attending high school or have graduated with a high school degree.
- Basic understanding of MS Office tools.
- Interest in nonprofit fundraising.
- Strong self-motivation, positive, winning attitude, and energetic.
- Creativity and a sense of humor.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to handle and respect confidential and sensitive information.
