St. Andrew Elementary Catholic School, a ministry of St. Andrew Catholic Parish and located in Coral Springs, Florida, seeks a Principal to provide leadership for the school beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year.
Established in 1976, St. Andrew Catholic School prepares students in a spiritual, academic and nurturing environment to become productive leaders rooted in the Catholic virtues of faith, hope, and love. The school is a friendly and welcoming place where students are encouraged to do their best each day. Strong faith formation and rigorous academics are the cornerstones of this Catholic elementary school. A primary goal of St. Andrew School is to prepare children to be disciples of Christ through their interactions with other students, their teachers, family and society. Students are prepared for a rapidly changing world while grounded in a nurturing family atmosphere.
The principal is someone in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church and who genuinely practices the faith in word, deed, and manner of life. The principal is to hold an advanced degree and certification from State of Florida.
The principal serves as the primary liaison between the school, the parish, and the Archdiocese of Miami (through the office of the Superintendent), Catholic secondary schools, and the broader community. The principal is appointed, delegated authority, supervised, and annually evaluated by the Pastor of St. Andrew Parish, himself appointed by the Archbishop of Miami. The primary duty of the principal is to provide leadership for the school and so ensure that it achieves the fullest attainment of its unique mission. As overall educational leader, with the pastor, the principal bears ultimate responsibility for the integration of faith and culture within the school, along with successful academic and co-curricular programs, as well as effective management of the business and development affairs of the school. St, Andrew Catholic School is dual accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference and Cognia, Inc. The principal is to maintain these accreditations.
The principal is to ensure the continuation of proven teaching methodologies and to implement new programs specifically designed to meet the needs of the students, ultimately positioning the school to remain competitive in the South Florida educational market. The principal is to lead efforts to expand enrollment by reaching out to neighboring Catholic parishes (without a school) and the broader community.
The principal serves as the chief executive, operations, and educational officer for the school at the direction of and in collaboration with the Pastor. In addition to qualified staff and faculty, the principal has the advice of the School Advisory Council and the Parish Finance Council. Ultimately, the principal is responsible for the successful overall operation of the school as accomplished through effective delegation of responsibilities to the administrative team, the faculty, and staff.
St. Andrew Catholic School employs or contracts teachers who hold baccalaureate or higher degrees and who are professionally certified or in the certification process. The school does not dis-criminate in admissions or hiring policies based on race, ethnicity, sex, or national origin.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree required.
• Florida Certificate in School Leadership or equivalent.
• At least three years' Catholic School administrative experience.
• Five years' teaching experience.
• Bi-lingual with Spanish communication skills a plus. Proficiency in French is also a plus.
