Epiphany Catholic School in Culpeper, VA is seeking a dedicated and capable principal with strong leadership and teambuilding skills, a commitment to Catholic education, and the desire to help our school grow. Epiphany is an inter-parish PK-8 school serving four rural counties. Our principal is expected to oversee rigorous, well-rounded academics, supervise and mentor qualified and caring faculty, uphold disciplinary standards in a manner consistent with Christian principles, identify and pursue funding opportunities, and actively work to grow enrollment. A qualified candidate is a faith-filled, practicing Catholic with a minimum of five years teaching experience and a Master's degree. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader, an effective communicator, and someone who nurtures students and teachers to their full potential. PRINCIPAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church (i.e., able to receive the Sacraments and, if married, in a valid Church marriage.)
2. Be deeply committed to the development of the faith life of the teachers and students and dedicated to the ministry of Catholic education.
3. Have a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a Catholic school. Such experience should be sufficiently broad to provide an understanding of the Prek-8 or 9-12 structure and the potential to function as an educational leader in an elementary or secondary school.
4. Have a Master's Degree in School Administration from an accredited university approved by the State of Virginia or a Master's Degree in another academic area and completion of the following graduate courses: School Law, Evaluation of Instruction and Curriculum, Special Education, School Finance and Educational Leadership from a state approved program and successful completion of the School Leadership Assessment (SLA). The courses and assessment must be completed within three years of being hired.
5. Hold appropriate Virginia Administration and Supervision Certification or be eligible to obtain this certification within three years of hire.
6. Hold Basic Diocesan Religion Certification or be eligible to obtain this certification within three years of hire.
