Overview
The purpose of this position is to assist the director of Family Life Ministries. A priority is to maintain and update the diocesan mailing lists so that it is ready for mail out notices at any given moment. This position is also responsible for preparing materials for retreats (especially Engaged Encounter Retreats), establishing records of activity, note taking at meetings, and bulk mailings. As Family Life Assistant you will correspond and organize the department’s calendar, keeping on top of the scheduled events and deadlines. Other duties might include helping to lower department costs, maintaining websites and social media, making travel arrangements, filing, and assisting in recruiting volunteers for various fundraisers and ministries. The Family Life Assistant is to take the minutes and prepare documents for meetings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, some college is a plus.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Experience in administrative office skills a plus and general knowledge of office equipment is necessary.
- Eagerness to learn and to assist others when needed.
- Must be an honest and dependable person.
- Understanding of confidentiality, a must.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish is an advantage.
- A working knowledge of the Catholic Faith is an advantage.
