Overview Ss. Robert & William Catholic School is seeking to hire an administrative leader to partner with Ss. Robert & William Catholic Parish and St. John of the Cross Catholic Parish under the leadership of the newly formed Board of Directors to reinvigorate Catholic education. The Mission of Ss. Robert & William School is to form Saints and Scholars to know, love and serve Jesus Christ. The School seeks a dynamic servant leader who will bring broad experience in executive leadership, financial management, and advancement, as well as a passion and commitment to the Catholic mission of the school. This person will share the community’s excitement for and commitment to the values of Catholic education and promote a culture of academic excellence.
Primary Position Purpose
The Head of School (President), in this inaugural role, reports to the Board of Directors of Ss. Robert & William Catholic School, which is the governing body. In steadfast support to more than 450 students and their families, the Head of School works to ensure the school delivers strong, positive, Catholic education for continued excellence in faith formation and academics. Opportunities & Challenges Lead a diverse school community in service to God, Gospel values and our Catholic faith; Partner with the newly formed Board of Directors to develop and implement a strategic plan; Enhance Catholic identity and help bring the Gospel values to life within our community; Further develop and enhance a culture of academic excellence; Meet the financial goals of Ss. Robert & William Catholic School to ensure long-term operational vitality; Recruit, retain, motivate, and fairly compensate excellent faculty and staff; Implement programs to enhance student retention and enrollment growth; Enhance the financial strength and long-term sustainability of the school, including identification and successful solicitation of new contributors and funding sources; Intensify donor relationships and engagements leading to raising funds for capital campaigns and generating scholarship and endowment funds. Qualities & Characteristics Devoted, practicing Catholic who possesses an active and integrated faith life and is committed to Catholic educational values; Personable, relational, and engaging leader who has enthusiasm for the critical mission of Catholic schools; Ethical and moral leader with integrity; Strong collaborative leader who models accountability and trustworthiness, and has an established track record of building community and inspiring excellence; Visionary who is able to supervise development, refinement, implementation, and progress monitoring of strategic plans; Leader with strong emotional intelligence, particularly as a team-builder, relationship-builder, and community-builder; Leader with successful track record of executive experience in a dynamic setting with many constituents and with strong business acumen; Executive with successful experience in organizational advancement and development, with the skill to draw a community together in support of the organizational mission and goals; Person who possesses effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrates compassion, teamwork, and collaboration; Engaging and thoughtful listener; Bias for action with a focus on measurable results; Strong team-builder who has the capacity to tell the Ss. Robert & William Catholic School story both internally and externally.
Position Qualifications The Head of School must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the Catholic Church. Demonstrated commitment to, and knowledge and understanding of, the teachings, traditions, values, and mission of the Catholic Church. Minimum master’s degree in business, organizational development, non-profit management, education, or relevant degree. In lieu of an advanced degree, a combination of significant experience and education or certification will be considered. Proven visionary with demonstrated success in addressing immediate school or other organization needs and achieving long term goals. Experience in strategic planning and implementation, fiscal and other resource management, relationship cultivation, leading successful fundraising campaigns, and effectiveness in leading and managing people. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills helpful in building relationships that inspire crucial support in the school’s fundraising and enrollment growth initiatives. Accessible and approachable leadership style, with an ability to relate comfortably and establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, faculty and staff, a diverse school community, alumni/ae, government leaders, and local community partners. The president must be extremely visible and interactive both inside and outside the school community.
