Job Title: School Hot Lunch Coordinator
The Hot Lunch Coordinator fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by managing the school cafeteria and lunch program within the framework of the school’s philosophy and organization. The Hot Lunch Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing the school’s food program within the guidelines established by the school. The Hot Lunch Coordinator has decision-making responsibilities within essential job functions in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal.
Essential Duties
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.
- Demonstrates general knowledge of cooking and ability to follow recipes and create menus.
- Prepare, cook/bakes, and serve food for consumption in the school lunch program.
- Serves the meals.
- Makes daily reports available as requested.
- Maintains accurate inventory of food, supplies, and equipment and submits timely, cost-effective.
- Orders as needed.
- Maintains current and accurate lunch and bookkeeping records according to school policy.
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
- Directs the activities of the volunteers and students engaged in the preparation and serving of the meals, as well as the cleaning of the kitchen and serving area.
- Maintains a clean workplace.
- Supervises students in the serving area regarding safety and behavior.
- Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment.
- Ability to work well with students, parents, and colleagues in a school setting.
- Performs year-end cleaning.
- Performs all duties within the scheduled working hours assigned by the school.
- Ability to follow directions and handle multiple tasks.

- High school diploma or equivalent

Certifications and Training:
- Meets state and local health regulations, as required.

Position requires the ability to react to fast paced environment; verbally converse with other individuals, move, and lift objects of thirty pounds. Must be physically able to operate a variety of kitchen machines. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Physical requirements are consistent with food service work.
- Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress.
- Required to work in standard school and kitchen conditions.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
