Position: Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach

Position Overview
Austin Catholic Volleyball Program is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Varsity Coach to join our coaching staff. This individual will support the Head Coach in developing athletes’ skills, fostering teamwork, and building a competitive and positive volleyball program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading team practices, conditioning sessions, and game strategies
- Support the Head Coach in organizing team activities, games, and tournaments
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, emphasizing skill development, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility
- Help analyze team performance, provide constructive feedback, and adjust training plans accordingly
- Promote a culture of discipline, hard work, and respect within the team
- Assist with game-day operations, including setup, lineup coordination, and in-game coaching
- Help track and analyze team statistics to inform practice and game strategies
- Assist with filming practices and games, reviewing footage to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques
- Previous playing experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate with the Head Coach and athletic department staff
- Passion for working with high school athletes to develop their skills both on and off the court
- Ability to attend practices, games, and team events during volleyball season
Requirements: all paid for by ACHS
- Must complete or have completed Protecting God’s Children training through the Archdiocese of Detroit.
- Must submit to a new background check, if not completed within the last 6 months.
- Must have a valid CPR certificate or obtain one.
- Follow all MHSAA & CHSL coaching requirements, such as CAP courses offered by the MHSAA
Salary: Dependent on qualifications
