JOB SUMMARY:
With USF's Mission Statement and core values in mind, the Vice President for Marketing and Enrollment (VPME) must demonstrate willingness and ability to support and actively contribute to this Catholic and Franciscan mission and these values of the university, incorporating the mission into strategies to attract new students. This position will lead, manage and integrate the offices of admissions (traditional undergraduate, graduate and online), financial aid (including the One Stop Shop), and marketing, assessing and strengthening these operations and programs while providing innovative thinking and leadership to increase the size and academic profile of future incoming classes in a multi-site model, including the number of residential students on the main campus. It is critical that the Vice President develop positive working relationships with faculty, staff, coaches, students, alumni, trustees, and school counselors in the effort to further develop connections and partnerships between enrollment management, student life, academic programs, athletics, and other co-curricular activities, to attract, enroll, and retain students.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
The VPME will be responsible for developing, leading, and implementing the University's long-range strategic enrollment management plan and financial aid award model, and working with partners across the university, incorporating marketing strategies and practices to increase enrollment and retention of pre-degree, undergraduate and graduate students, ensuring the university's Catholic identity, Franciscan charism, and commitment to the liberal arts remain at the center of our educational mission and public identity.
In addition, the Vice President will:
- Serve as an enthusiastic and productive member of President's Cabinet, the university's mission- and strategy-driven decision-making leadership team, to assist in university strategic planning and on-going operations such as: setting goals for enrollment across all programs; offering insight on student activities, life and culture, and facilities, including residence experience; offering support and ideas for donor- and sponsor-funded scholarships and tuition aid; and assisting in regularly reviewing our academic programs to ensure they are financially sustainable and aligned to student demand.
- Communicate effectively with President's Cabinet and their delegates (e.g. AVPs and program directors) to form strategies for recruitment, conversion to enrollment, and financial aid allocation in alignment with the university's strategic plan and the Strategic Enrollment Plan. Effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with all other University constituents.
- Provide cooperative and creative leadership and invigorating direction to the directors of admissions, financial aid, and marketing including development, execution, and assessment of strategic initiatives to positively impact recruitment and enrollment with balanced revenue and discounting. Develop talent of the Enrollment Marketing and Management staff to create a high performing team that can employ visionary, evolving, and successful practices to drive enrollment.
- Implement innovative recruitment and retention strategies to achieve the university's strategic goals for the multi-degree level and multisite programming, developing enrollment models, and projections to assist in university-wide planning.
- Galvanize the marketing team to develop creative, multifaceted marketing campaigns to an expanded geographical area.
- Assist recruitment team members in employing new and adaptive tactics and practices for the changing landscape.
- Coordinate enrollment and market research that strengthens efforts in primary markets, while also providing needed intelligence on market potential in secondary and tertiary markets.
- Help create and sustain a positive customer service experience.
- Utilize information systems and technology to effectively manage and use recruitment, financial aid, and marketing data.
- Consistently demonstrate behaviors and attitudes congruent with the University of Saint Francis and the Franciscan Values.
- Fulfill the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the University and the profession.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding and enthusiastic support for the Catholic, Franciscan mission of the university; practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the church preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
Experience
- At least five years of leadership level experience in marketing, enrollment management or a related field, preferably in a college/university setting, with progressive levels of strategic-focused responsibility.

- Knowledge of the strategic uses of financial aid to ensure financial aid model is adaptive to changing needs.
- Data-centric in thought and practice with strong analytical stills to interpret, analyze, and utilize data and market research to effectively prioritize resources, projects and actions.
- Demonstrated skills in goal setting and budget management.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrate a willingness to listen and share.
- Ability to work with trustees and board committees devoted to enrollment and enrollment-related issues.
