Description
St Charles Borromeo Academy is seeking a full time Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The Special Education Teacher will provide the special education services to students in small groups, grades K-8. This position is responsible for executing SEPs by working with the program director, students, and teachers. Additionally, as a member of the CARE Team, they will consult with teachers and parents, and provide accommodations/modifications to students, their curriculum, and/or their grade cards. Lastly, the Special Education Teacher will assist with specific fundraising efforts related to the Faith an Feast Gala as outlined by the Principal and Pastor, and will be expected to report to all of the same events an meetings as the classroom teachers. This position will report to the Special Education Program Director.
Essential Duties:
- Execute Student Education Plans (SEP).
- Work with teachers to implement strategies within the classroom as identified by SEPs.
- Work in collaboration with the Academy CARE Team and the Special Education Program Director.
- Evaluate each student's progress on a regular basis and report that progress to the student, parents, and principal.
- Establish positive relationships and communicate effectively with all members of our school community.
- Work one-on-one with teachers to support their classroom inclusion efforts.
- Additional job-related responsibilities duties as requested by the administrative team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a teaching certificate in Special Education is required.
- 3 or more years' experience in a Special Education setting is preferred.
- Experience working with unique needs of students with special education needs (Autism, ADHD, ODD, EBD, trauma, Tourettes, etc),
- Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators.
- Experience with classroom teaching preferred.
