Qualifications
- Most importantly, the candidate is expected to adhere to all principles and tenets of the Catholic faith, to maintain a lifestyle that is in full accord with Church teachings, and to promote the best interests of his or her students and the Roman Catholic Church at all times.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree (Education/science). Current Illinois Certification with appropriate endorsement(s).
- Understanding and experience with curriculum design, planning and instruction.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Job Summary
Under the direction of the building’s principal, educator will plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students.
Staff member will effectively perform the following duties in a timely manner.
- Supervises students in a variety of school related settings.
- Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
- Manages classroom organization.
- Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and community.
- Works cooperatively with the administration and staff to schedule meetings.
- Develops and administers science education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Develops and administers Science curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
- Develops STEM-based lesson plans, laboratory activities, and presentations that will engage and motivate students.
- Provides students with collaborative, problem-solving experiences that relate to and can be applied to real life; includes integration of ACT skills, where applicable.
- Exudes an enthusiastic, motivating attitude towards science that will inspire students to facilitate class discussion.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate science equipment, maintains inventory records, and ensures equipment is in good working order.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Salary & Benefits
Salary for this position will be between $41,000-$69,000, based on experience.
Employee benefits paid for by employer - includes health, dental and vision insurance. Additional insurance for beneficiaries may be purchased. Pension plan available after one year of service.
