St. Mary Catholic Central High School, located in Monroe, Michigan, seeks an Assistant Principal for the 2025/2026 school year. The Assistant Principal is a full-time position primarily responsible for students' order, safety, and discipline in and out of the classroom. The Assistant Principal will oversee all student-related matters, including, but not limited to, attendance, health and safety programs, and student clubs/organizations. The Assistant Principal will serve as a member of the SMCC Administrative Team and will work closely with the Principal in making key decisions. The candidate must support the school's mission and the Roman Catholic Church.
Primary Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Maintaining order, safety, and discipline at St. Mary Catholic Central High School within a model grounded in Gospel values and the Catholic Church's priorities of evangelization and formation of the next generation of disciples
- Developing, implementing, and updating the rules and regulations found in the school's Student-Parent Handbooks and accompanying student behavioral rubrics
- Fostering a model of subsidiarity while directing the training and support of faculty classroom management, extra-curricular supervision, and the enforcement of behavioral policies
- Mediating disputes between students utilizing best practices in conflict resolution and de-escalation while focusing on Gospel values and character formation
- Serving as the primary point of contact with parents for all matters related to student behavior, attendance, and violations of the school's codes of conduct
- Working in conjunction with the Attendance Secretary at SMCC to oversee student attendance
- Supervising lunch periods
- Supervising specified extra-curricular activities as directed by the SMCC Principal
- Primary responsibility for managing consequences of violation of student codes and handbooks, including but not limited to student detentions and in-school suspensions
- Organizing all aspects of the schools' uniform system, including working with the uniform sales representatives
- Organizing student locker and parking lot assignments and other physical school assets as needed
- Serves as a member of the SMCC Administrative Team
- Sit on committee regarding student’s social-emotional learning and well-being
- Assists Principal and counselors with crisis response team duties
- Assumes other duties assigned by the SMCC Principal
