The Volunteer Coordinator plays a crucial role in creating and managing the CCETN volunteer program. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers to ensure they are effectively engaged in our organization's mission. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for community service, making a significant impact through volunteer management.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer program to support CCETN's diverse programs and services
- Identify opportunities for high-impact volunteer roles that strategically advance organizational goals
- Coordinate with program managers to assess volunteer needs and ensure effective utilization of volunteer talent
- Actively recruit volunteers through community outreach, partnerships, and marketing efforts, including social media, events, and public speaking engagements
- Establish and maintain relationships with local schools, businesses, faith communities, and civic organizations to build a robust volunteer pipeline
- Promote group and corporate volunteer opportunities to increase engagement
- Develop and manage a volunteer onboarding process, including orientation and training sessions
- Provide resources and support to ensure volunteers understand their roles and responsibilities
- Collaborate with staff to create position-specific training materials for volunteers.
- Recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions through events, awards, and personalized acknowledgment
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all volunteers
- Conduct regular check-ins and surveys to gather feedback and improve the volunteer experience
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer applications, hours, and activities using volunteer management software
- Generate reports and metrics to evaluate the impact of volunteer programs
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, including background checks and confidentiality agreements
Job Requirements
- Must hold a valid driver license and be willing to travel if required
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if required
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check
- Must be able to move objects weighing up to 40 lbs
- Must support the teachings of the Catholic Church and embody our organization's mission and culture through behavior and daily interactions
- Regular and predictable onsite attendance required
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, human resources, social work, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or a related role
- Experience working with diverse populations and high-impact volunteer initiatives
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners
- Proficiency in volunteer management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Catholic social teaching and a commitment to the mission and values of CCETN
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.61 - $17.41 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
