Job Summary: The Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend is responsible for evangelizing and catechizing the people of northeast Indiana. Youth and Young Adult Ministry are part of the Secretariat for Pastoral Ministries and Catechesis, which assists the bishop in implementing his vision for pastoral care of the people of our diocese.
Overview: The Associate Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry assists the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry in supporting the evangelization and formation of youth (teens) and young adults (late teens, twenties, and thirties) in our diocese. In collaboration with the Director, the Associate Director implements bishop’s vision, supports pastors and parish staff, and offers direct ministry to youth and young adults that invites them to relationship with Jesus Christ and active participation in the Church.
Primary areas of responsibility:

- Implement Bishop Rhoades’ vision for youth and young adult ministry

- Support parishes and schools in their efforts to evangelize, catechize, and disciple youth and young adults.

- Assist the Director in forming youth and young adult ministers through training, resources, and networking

- Assist the Director in facilitating youth focused events such as the March for Life pilgrimage and World Youth Day.

- Assist the Director in planning and implementing regional and diocesan wide activities to reach young adults. This direct outreach could include Theology on Tap, retreats, conferences, and pilgrimages
