Job Summary
The Diocese of Burlington is seeking a Groundskeeper to join our team and play a vital role in the care and maintenance of our cemeteries and other diocesan properties.

Duties

Perform grounds maintenance, including mowing, plowing, trimming, pruning, and flowerbed care.
Assist with burials, interments, on-site parking, and guiding processions.
Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, pruners, and utility vehicles.
Inspect and maintain grounds equipment, including checking fluid levels, refueling, and ensuring safety standards.
Ensure the respectful handling of funeral services while working on-site.
Gather and dispose of weeds, snow, plant debris, and trash.
Conduct daily inspections of cemetery grounds and report concerns promptly.
Request necessary operational supplies and handle special projects as directed.

Experience

Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with lawn care techniques and practices is a plus.
Basic knowledge of operating power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks on schedule.
