We provide social services to, advocate for, and empower the poor, oppressed or vulnerable with special attention to the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. We are looking for a compassionate social worker committed to creating justice through relationships. This job requires someone willing to work alongside individuals who are reentering society from prison. We offer services to individuals who may have non-violent, violent or sex charges in their past. If this poses a problem, it’s best not to apply.

Compensation:

Salary range based on level of experience: $47,000-53,000

Eligible to participate in the Diocese Benefit plan (Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, STD, Vision, Basic & Voluntary Life) 1st of the month following 60 days of employment and the Diocese 401K plan after one year of employment.

Work Hours: 30hrs a week

· Candidate must possess a valid driver's license and successfully pass a criminal background check. Job may require occasional travel throughout the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, as well as travel to prisons where prospective clients are located.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Conducting initial assessments of client’s situation to determine needs and goals.
Continued communication with currently incarcerated clients who are planning to live at Joseph House.
Weekly social-emotional training skills group with all residents

· Collaborates with other disciplines including substance abuse, legal, medical, educational, vocational, mental health professionals, and other service providers.

· Makes appropriate referrals for emotional, substance abuse, legal, medical, dental, educational recreational, vocational, employment and housing needs, as well as referrals for psychiatric evaluation and testing.

· Completes reports and maintains statistical data, meets programmatic, documentation and other performance standards, on an on-going basis.

· Strong clerical/administrative skills including personal computer skills (Microsoft Office software)

· Training and supervising volunteers

Communicating with clients' care team
Willing to engage in public speaking
Providing crisis intervention as needed
Ensuring that all case files, and other records, strictly comply with state and diocesan policies, regulations, and procedures
Coordinating treatment planning and maintaining ongoing contact with outpatient providers for the continual care
Actively participating in ongoing training as needed in order to meet all certification standards and credentialing policies

Requirements

· Masters degree in Social Work

Preferred Experience

· Two years of work experience in the field

· Experience with trauma-informed care and clinical work
